Why was it developed?
An Australian first, the service was developed in response to findings of a major independent survey of 1000 men, which indicated that many believe myths about vasectomy and are reluctant to talk about their own sexual health with their GP.
The research, conducted by Quantum Market Research, found that only 39% of men aged 18-29 have spoken to a GP on the issue of contraception and sexual health and 24% of men wrongly believed that having a vasectomy is ‘really painful’.
The online vasectomy chat service will allow men to get expert answers to all of the questions that they have about the procedure, hopefully allaying their fears and dispelling many of the myths out there.
