A first for Australian radio, Triple M newsreader 'Hewie' from the Pete and Myf: 6-9am weekdays breakfast radio show, had a vasectomy whilst reading the 8am news bulletin live on Melbourne radio this morning.

The procedure, performed by sexual health experts at Marie Stopes International, went ahead without a hitch and the 8am news bulletin was read, as per usual, by a calm 'Hewie' (right).

Not only did the newsreader inform listeners with a news update, he also managed to keep a running commentary of the vasectomy and really showed how easy the procedure is.

Last week, Pete Helliar and Myf Warhurst from the popular breakfast radio show dared 'Hewie' to get a vasectomy as a Valentine's Day gesture to his wife and to have the procedure broadcast live on radio whilst reading the news.
