meet our vasectomy heroes

this is andrew

Andrew decided the perfect Valentine's Day present was permanent contraception ... a vasectomy. He booked in on 14th February and receives extra hero status for reading a live-on-air news bulletin during his procedure, which was performed under a local anaesthetic. After getting the all clear, Andrew's sex life was back on track and now he doesn't have to worry about contraception ever again.

this is matt

Matt went in for a vasectomy on Friday afternoon, and was back at work on Monday morning. He had a quick and easy recovery with a bag of frozen peas and some time on the couch. His wife says their sex life is better than ever as they no longer have to worry about contraception.

this is darren

Darren had a vasectomy and was back at work two days later. He was awake and laughing during the 15 minute procedure which was performed entirely under a local anaesthetic. His wife also thinks he is a hero and they love that sex is now spontaneous, without having to worry about contraception.

did you know

  • Vasectomy is the only permanent method of contraception for men and has a 99.5% success rate
  • Vasectomy is safe, simple and highly effective
  • Vasectomy is performed under local anaesthetic
  • A vasectomy blocks the vas deferens so that sperm produced in the testest can not get into the semen
  • A vasectomy takes approximately 10-15 minutes
  • A vasectomy is carried out as day surgery and you will be required at the centre for about an hour and a half
  • You can return to work 1-2 days after the procedure and you can start sexual activity when you feel comfortable
  • You will not be sterile straight away and will need to use another method of contraception for a few months until your doctor informs you that your semen is free of sperm
  • The procedure will not change sexual ability or enjoyment
  • Vasectomy should be considered as a permanent form of contraception (sterilisation). If you are not 100% certain you should consider a different method of contraception, such as a condom.
